One day，eight-year-old Tess heard her mom and dad talking about her little brother. All she knew was that he was very sick and that they were completely out of money. Only a costly operation could save him. She heard Daddy say to her mom， “Only a miracle can save him now.”
Taking all of her coins，Tess went to talking to my brother whom I haven‘t seen for ages”.
“My brother is really sick and I want to buy a miracle，”Tess said.
“Pardon？”said the chemist in surprise. “ He has something bad growinginside his head and my Daddy says that only a miracle can save him now.”
The chemist’s brother was a well- dressed man. He asked the little girl， “What kind of miracle does your brother need？”
“I don‘t know，”Tess replied in tears.
“I just know that he needs an operation. My Daddy can’t pay for it，so I want to use my money. I have one dollar and eleven cents， and I can get some more if I need to.”
“You know what？”smiled the man. “That‘s the exact price of a miracle.”That man was a famous doctor. The operation was completed and soon Andrew became well.
“That operation”，her mom said， “was a real miracle. I wonder how much it would have cost？”Tess smiled. She knew exactly how much a miracle cost： one dollar and eleven cents and the faith of a little girl.
