When I was ten years old，I began to chat with foreigners . But I was very shy . Gradually，I became more and more confident with foreigners ’ help . The following year，I went to Yangzhou with two foreigners. I became their guide. First，we came into the Shouxi River. They wanted us to look out at the sight，we all felt the beauty of this landscape. After that，they went to buy souvenirs. The sellers couldn‘t speak English. Though it was very hard， I tried my best to listen to their words carefully and translate the sentences. They bought some souvenirs with my help. Next， we went to a small zoo，and we took some photos. There were not many animals. When we felt hungry，we went out and had lunch. After lunch，we visited some old houses. They learned more about Chinese history.
This wasn’t only a big challenge but also an unforgettable challenge. This opportunity made me confident and brave.
I hope I can catch many opportunities in the future， then I can speak English， because I think practice makes perfect.

On a cold December morning， my mother and I were walking home from a pizza store. We were dressed warmly and equipped with the video we had been dying to watch. I was feeling a little tired，as I was carrying our shopping，bags of snacks and the video.
They were so heavy that I decided to throw away some things. So I started to walk towards the garbage can when I noticed a poor man walking his bike out of the restaurant in front of us. He held a paper bag with his dirty hand. He headed over to another nearby garbage can and started looking through it.
I suddenly felt very guilty. I knew this man would take all he could get，so I walked up to him and handed the drink and some snacks over to him. The man， with lines on his face and wrinkles on his forehead，looked up in surprise and took what I gave him.
A huge smile spread across his face and this caused me to feel greatly satisfied. I felt like I couldn‘t be happier with drink，and now some tasty food； this is my daughter’s lucky day！“He thanked me happily and started off on his bike. I even heard him whistling a song as he rode away.
I now understand what is meant by the saying”giving is getting“. Everyone in the world needs help，everyone can offer help and everyone will be helped by showing kindness.
The image of that man‘s happiness caused by my small gift appears in my mind every time I have the chance to do something nice.
